A Wormery is a container that holds your leftover kitchen waste and a friendly population of composting worms that eat it all up

Why Worms ?

Composting Worms have been natures cleaners for thousands of years, They eat animal wastes, leaves, dead plants, in fact anything that has lived and died.
Not only that, but the worms castings (vermicompost) is the best compost you can get for your garden. Rich in nutrients, it makes plants grow stronger, the vermicompost retains water

We throw away about a third of all the food we buy, therefore It makes sense for us to use worms for recycling our kitchen waste. Thus preventing the waste going to landfill where it rots and produces methane (one of the greenhouse gases)

Who Are WormCITY® ?

Wormcity is a small but successful family run company that produces a range of wormeries at prices that fit all budgets.
Our wormeries have been tried and tested, by various master composters, councils and schools. The results have always been excellent.

Why ?

  • Our wormeries stack inside each other, so the trays are always in contact with the compost below
  • Our wormeries have a large surface area, this allows the food to compost down quicker
  • The wormery trays are a decent size we do not make the out to be bigger than they actually are.
  • We send a minimum 500g of mixed composting worms. The more you start with the quicker your results.
  • Having trays allows the worms to have more air flow. This stops the wormery from becoming anaerobic (without air)
  • Using trays allows the compost to be emptied easier. The worms will always move upwards, leaving the finished compost below
